Airservices Australia donates radios to Aboriginal Communities Air Navigation Service Provider, Airservices Australia responsible for air traffic control between aircraft and ground controllers have recently upgraded their HF radio communications network. This has meant that some transmitter radios have become obsolete and made available to ARDS for use with Yolngu Radio. The equipment comprises solid state radio transmitters which will be refurbished by ARDS volunteers under the direction of Mr John Mitchell (of Kingdom Ministries) and other associated electronic equipment for the transmitters. These transmitters will be placed in service in the broadcast of Yolngu Radio across north-east Arnhem Land as part of the ARDS AM radio network. The photo (below) shows John Mitchell and his associated ready for the road trip to Adelaide, having collected the equipment from Airservices Australia at Melbourne Airport on 31st May 2006.
