Good communication is key to everything we do
Acceptance that the people’s academic knowledge is unique and valuable
Willingness to research and employ innovative education strategies and methodologies
Willingness to question the education strategies and methodologies, to better understand how and why they do or do not work
Preparedness to initiate new approaches in community development
Education and community development priorities are based on the needs identified by the ARDS Yolngu Executive and the Indigenous communities
Commitment to work from the knowledge level of where the people are at
Equity in relationships between teacher to student and student to teacher
Use of specialists and professionals in education content development
Where appropriate using specialists and professionals in delivering the educational information
Continuing to build a network of voluntary “grey power” mature-age professionals
