Gälpu Yothu Yindi Gospel by Bärra West Wind - CD

Gälpu Yothu Yindi Gospel features full productions of original and classic Yolŋu gospel songs, performed by powerhouse Arnhem Land band, Bärra West Wind. The album includes twelve songs written in Gälpu, Gumatj and Wanguri languages, three Yolŋu clans connected through Yothu Yindi, as ‘Child and Mother’.

The album was recorded and produced by ARDS/Yolŋu Radio at Gayŋuru Studios in Nhulunbuy over the course of a year. Producing the record on Yolŋu country allowed the band to collaborate with the Birritjimi Ladies Choir as well as highly acclaimed traditional songman, Malalakpuy Munyarryun.
